Back Row Left to Right- Our Oldest son Kent Jr, Our Youngest Son Trevor and Our Middle Son Justin.
Then in the front row is myself Tandra and Wonderful Husband Kent

Meet the K of KT's.... Kent Sr is the backbone of KT's Lone Cedar Rescue. My Wonderful husband is a big part of the rescue effort.  He is an Engineer with Burlington Northern Santa Fa. So yes his job takes him on the rail a lot. If he has the time off, he will go to auctions with me to help in rescuing a horse in need. If he doesn't go, he just smiles when I get home because he knows that I've rescued a horse to bring home.  My husband do the trimming of the horses hooves. My husband helps with the training of the horses, Build Fence, Worming, Shots, Whatever help we need, he is always there to help us. Thanks for all that you do for the Rescue Sweetheart!!! I Love You and appreciate your help with the rescue of God's Magnificent Creatures......

I'm next, Tandra, The "T" of KT'S!! My start in rescue first came about thru my Love and Passion of animals. As a child I would try to help save baby rabbits or other animals I may have found injured, sick, or alone that I thought I could help. Growing up, I wanted to go into the career of Agriculture or Veterinarian Assistant. I never pursued the career in Veternarian Assistant or Agriculture, instead I went to college to become a Cosmetologist. My biggest influence in my life for my love of animals have been my grandparents, Jim and Dorthy Jensen. My grandparents lived on a farm with Holsteins, pigs, and chickens. I loved to spend time at my grandparents homestead. I got to help my grandparents with farm chores that consisted of slopping the hogs to feeding bucket calves to even milking chores.  If it was harvest time or a time to bale hay, I remember helping my grandmother with taking food to the guys at meal time.  My grandparents one year had brought a horse home for me to ride and spend time with.  I also had a Holstein I was able to feed corn cobs to and ride around on the farm when I visited I named "Betsy".  My other influence in rescue is due to one thing a lot of people don't know about me and that is that I'm am epileptic.  My family have been the backbone of supporting me thru good and bad times. My parents, Errol and Linda Wahlstrom, never giving up on me at a time as a child they didn't think I would make it.  My wonderful husband Kent and my son's at a time I went thru a seizure and was there to help me thru one. The good news is, thru the years, my seizure activity has gotten better, and I take medication that controls my seizures. So I don't let the fact of being an epileptic stop my efforts of horse rescue and I'm not affraid to get involved with a horse. My firm belief is that God didn't create "Junk".  Too many times I hear the comment that someone went to a horse auction and picked up someones elses "Junk". Every horse has a story and each has their own lesson to teach us. Animals don't ask to to be in the situation their in whether it be that they were starved, abused,  blind, crippled, or whatever their situation.  Animals are the most forgiving there is and don't care that we aren't beautiful or have a lot of money.  They love humans regardless of our situation.  I have had a lot of horses with a lot of different stories.  I am the overseer of our horses and try to meet the personal needs of our horses. Whether it be on a one on one personal level to let them know they are safe, show them they are important, and what it is to be loved and cared about. As a Rescuer, I try to teach people that are around me what an animal has to offer whether a pet or a rescue, the true compassion they have to offer us. The most rewarding thing about rescue is to rescue a horse, no matter what their situation is, that would have typically gone to slaughter, and watch them bloom like a flower. Watch the changes they make with love and understanding thru the compassion I show for them. As a wife and mother, I have shown my family what a rescue has to offer, the true compassion and lessons we are taught by those we rescue.  I also help my son's and husband with the feeding, watering, and oversee the horses needs whatever that may be....As a Rescuer, I give horses a chance at a new life and help God with protecting his maginificent creatures.  I now know I am truly helping with what God has set out for me as part of his plan for me. My family being the most rewarding part of life, I know I am doing what is one of the next most rewarding mission I could be doing in my life. Thanks to my Wonderful husband and son's for being a Big part of our Rescue Effort.

Meet our  oldest son, Kent Jr. also know as JR. He graduated from high school in 2008 and joined the Army in the summer of his Junior year in high school. WOW, how the years have passed by so fast. We are proud of you and all you have accomplished JR....You have grown up into a fine young man and have shown a lot of responsibility. JR was always the one that would try to help me with his brothers when they were babies and loved to have books read to him. JR is involved with  activities within his high school. He is out for FFA, Basketball, and Track. His event in Track is the 800 meter dash. He was quite the athlete. He worked construction for one of his grandpa's, Bill Schwanebeck, He also worked at CJ's Foods and for Blecha Dairy. JR was involved with our horse rescue and had the responsibility of haying the horses...But don't think thats all he did. He has helped with building pens, cleaning pens, repairs that need to be made around the farm, and our latest project of remodeling bedrooms upstairs.  In his down time, you may see him spending time with family or friends. Thanks for all you have done JR in helping with the horse rescue. You have a big part of our rescue and appreciate all you have helped us with. We love You JR.!!PFCKentDunnJRBootCampFTLeonardWoodMO808.jpg
