The first two pictures are the pictures of Cactus I saw when she was listed on Tack
Auction for sale. One day I was going to browse thru the horse ads to see what horses were for sale.
At the time when I saw her, as you see, she was in her bay winter coat. I thought she was a Beautiful young filley that had
a lot of potential. I showed her picture to my husband Kent and told him I thought we should bid on her. We emailed the
Weeks family to see what it took to get her to Nebraska since we had never bought a horse from out of state before and to
ask what her reserve is. We found out that she needed a coggins and health certificate before we could bring her home. The
reserve for Cactus was $400. We notified the Weeks to tell them we wanted to get Cactus. We set up a date and time to meet
half way in Missouri to
pay for and pickup Cactus. At that time we had an old orange and white horse trailer, what a beauty...lol. We met with the
Weeks at a gas station in Missouri. Found out the Weeks had their trailer breakdown on their way to meet with us.
They got their trailer fixed and back on the highway to meet with us. We got to talk to the Weeks and we chatted awhile,
loaded Cactus into our trailer before we all parted way to go home. We found out while Cactus was in our trailer
that she liked to cow kick...We got Cactus back home and settled into her new home and introduced her to our
kids and other horse sibblings. After letting Cactus settle in. I got out and worked with Cactus on her Cow Kicking witha
lot of love, patience, and treats. Cactus did get past her kicking and became quite the Wonderful Mare. Loving, gentle, and
trusted you to do whatever you asked of her. I had spent a many a time resting on the ground with here on a warm spring day.
She was always the first to be at the gate to see you. What a Sweetheart
. The Weeks family lost Cactus momma, Lexi
to organ failure and have since been greiving for Lexi. The kids would visit the memorial Carole and Jason made
for Lexi, asked when Cactus was coming home. Carole would try to cheer them up by telling them different stories of the
good times they had with Lexi. One of the children had even asked when Cactus was coming home. I knew in my heart Cactus needed
to return to the Weeks, that is what god would have wanted for this family, to heal hearts and for Cactus to be a part of
their family again. Not to replace Lexi, but so they would always have a part of Lexi thru Cactus. September 29,2007 came
and the Weeks Family pulled up the driveway. The reunion was a sweet one with Cactus and the Weeks family. This is what I
anticipated, for this family to be united with Cactus. This family is smiling again and the kids have a love for horses all
over again. Carole stated that her husband said he thought they had gotten Cactus for the kids, but then thought Cactus was
what the whole family needed. That is all I could have ever asked for, to bring happiness into this family lives thru a filley
named Cactus. A Wonderful family we met thru Tack Auction. I Love You Cactus!! We Miss you too. We Wish You and the Weeks
all the Happiness and Love you may have together.
The
pictures below were taken on 9/29/07, the day Jason and Carole Weeks came to pick Cactus up to take her home. The

I would like to personally thank
the Weeks Family for letting Cactus be a part of lives. Your Mare Lexi gave her life and you entrusted her with our family.
Cactus has always been such a pleasure to have with us. She would be the one running to the gate to see us when she was in
the pasture. Seek you out when you entered thru the gate of her pen at home. She would be the
one I could rest with on the ground and give her all the hugs she wanted. She truly has a beautiful heart and
is a Wonderful Mare. I'm sorry Lexi passed over, I understand what it is to lose an equine child. Our symapthies are with
you all. Just know Lexi is not alone, she will be forever in your hearts. Now she is in the greener
pastures of Rainbow Bridge. Waiting for the day she reunites with you, For now she is romping in greener pastures
with others until that day. I believe god had a
plan and that plan was for Cactus to live with us to become a part of our family and now that Lexi passed over she was to
return home to heal hearts, give you sooo much pleasure and memories to come,to fill her mama's shoes and to
become a part of your family.....Not to replace her mama, but in a way of you having a part of a part Lexi.
In a way Lexi's spirit is a part of Cactus. Lexi's Legacy Lives In Cactus, her daughter.
I would also like to thank you for the monetary donation,
saddle, and halters...Everything you have done for us and our equine family is appreciated..
Thank You Jason and Carole Weeks...
TAKE CARE AND WE LOVE YOU!!
